The Forschungszentrum Jülich as a member of the Helmholtz Association is one of the leading
research institutions in Germany with about 5500 employees. Energy technology is one of the main
research topics with an involvement of approx. 400 person-years. Protection of the environment
and natural resources, economy and safety are among the prime research goals. Over the past
decade the institute of energy and climate research has been involved in several national
programmes on fuel cell research co-operating with industries like Siemens and Daimler
Benz/Dornier as well as in several European projects co-operating with research institutes
and industries.
